Overview

We have an exciting new opportunity to welcome a clinical pharmacist to our innovative and progressive Hampshire Hospitals Pharmacy team to support the new ICS collaboration in the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre (HOC). This is a unique role in which you can develop your specialist skillset and advance your clinical skills.

• As a specialist Pharmacist, you will spend time in a patient facing role working in HOC to support the clinical service.

• You will gain experience and training to enhance your advanced clinical skills and non-clinical skills. The Trust has a strong multidisciplinary approach with extended roles for non-medical staff.

• The successful candidate will be provided with the support of the HOC and Pharmacy teams, opportunities to develop and embed their careers, and to make a difference to patients’ lives.

Responsibilities
  • To support the development and delivery of the Clinical Pharmacy Service provided to Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre (HOC), with responsibility for staff management in line with pharmacy objectives set by the Associate Director of Pharmacy, Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Line manager.
  • To collaborate with the Lead Pharmacist for Surgery to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient service for all patients of the services.
  • This post is part of the multidisciplinary and clinical pharmacy teams and will work at a specialist level providing a medicines optimisation service to the surgical division, focusing on the HOC.
  • To act as an independent non-medical prescriber, in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act 2001, specialising in an area of choice relevant to the surgical division.
  • To manage staff to ensure the effective operation of the services provided to the speciality.
  • The post holder has joint responsibility with the other specialist and clinical pharmacists within the clinical team for the overall leadership of the clinical pharmacy service to orthopaedics.
