An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Children in Care Nursing team for one day a week. We are seeking a motivated, dynamic, committed practitioner who is enthusiastic about developing and providing a quality service to improve the health of Children in Care.
You will work as part of the Children in Care Nursing team to ensure that the health needs of Children in Care are identified and that services are provided in a coordinated manner, supporting children to meet their potential. You will be required to complete high quality review health assessments for children in care.
Experience of interagency, collaborative working and a clear understanding of the complex health needs of Children in Care are required.

The post holder will be required to identify and implement plans to meet the health needs for this very vulnerable group of children and young people. This will be achieved by improving the co-ordination, access and delivery of health care to children and young people in care both living in and out of area who are the responsibility of Derby City Local Authority.
As a Specialist Children in Care Nurse the post holder will provide expert clinical advice, complete statutory review health assessments, deliver health education and develop and deliver training programmes to a range of professionals.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
