There is a vacancy within Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) for a highly skilled Adult Safeguarding Practitioner. Safeguarding is a valued and integral part of multi-disciplinary working across the Trust. The post is full time and involves assisting the Senior Specialist Adult Safeguarding Nurse and Matron/Named Nurses within the trust, with opportunities to contribute to wider practice development and initiatives surrounding adult safeguarding. Safeguarding is integral to Governance arrangements within MFT, and we are looking for someone with a commitment to high standards and a belief in delivering reliable and quality service provision in an area that is demanding and challenging but rewarding.
Applicants should have experience of working with situations that may present challenges for patients and staff and have an understanding of the national and local issues involved in safeguarding adults. A proven ability to engage in effective multi-disciplinary teamwork is required, as is some experience of working with multi-agency partners. The post holder will work closely with the Adult Senior Specialist Safeguarding Nurse and Named Nurse to conform to the mandatory and statutory frameworks to improve outcomes for adults at risk across the MFT footprint. The right candidate will be highly motivated with a passion for ensuring high standards of care across the safeguarding adult agenda, including adults at risk of abuse, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Domestic Abuse. They will be able to use their own initiative and have good interpersonal skills in dealing with both internal and external agencies. Recent experience of working directly with adults at risk and in need of protection and experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information are essential.
