Job Overview

This Specialist Doctor post is based at Weston General Hospital on a Permanent or fixed‑term contract. The successful applicant will work within all Acute Medicine services, providing leadership through ward and board rounds, performing and teaching practical procedures, teaching junior medical staff and participating in multidisciplinary meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and continuity of patient care for medical patients within the Emergency department, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit and inpatient wards including the Medical Admissions Unit (Sandford), Waterside and medical outliers.
  • Lead daily board and ward multidisciplinary rounds to progress patient treatment and discharge plans.
  • Perform and teach practical procedures.
  • Teach junior medical staff.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Participate in the GIM physician on‑call rota in a 1:11 basis.
