Working arrangement

The position is based at North Tyneside General Hospital but requires delivery of group sessions and clinics throughout North Tyneside and Northumberland. Key responsibilities
  • Provide specialist dietetic advice and support for patients living with obesity and other long‑term conditions.

  • Work collaboratively with the Tier 3 and Tier 4 multidisciplinary teams, including dietitians, dietetic assistant practitioners, psychologists, physical activity facilitators, physiotherapists, nurses, surgeons and physicians.
  • Support patients on drug therapies (GLP‑1 agonists) alongside medical staff where required.
  • Plan and organise education and training sessions for colleagues, students, dietitians, other health professionals and outside agencies.
  • Act as a specialist resource to MDT members and patients, contributing to the development, monitoring and compliance of dietetic standards and policies.
  • Engage in research and audit activities.
  • Demonstrate compassionate and inclusive leadership, promoting a culture of coaching, learning ownership and quality improvement.
  • Maintain a compassionate approach, recognising the negative impact of weight stigma on patients.
