Role Overview

We are welcoming applications for a Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist to join our Multi‑disciplinary (MDT) Foot Team at the Thomas‑Addison Diabetes Department at St George's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. St George's Hospital is the Vascular Hub Site for South‑West London and the team are instrumental in the care of patients escalated for specialist vascular care from neighbouring spoke hospitals. You will join our friendly and dynamic team of podiatrists and our podiatry assistant to provide enhanced practice in the assessment, diagnosis and management of complex diabetes‑related lower limb conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate and communicate regularly with our speciality MDT colleagues including diabetes consultants and nurses, infection diseases, vascular surgeons and nurses, orthopaedic surgeons, interventional radiology, psychology and community specialities.
  • Co‑ordinate and implement holistic care plans in line with MDT support.
  • Provide structured training and competency sign off for advanced care therapies such as topical negative‑pressure therapy and total contact casting.
  • Build and maintain service improvement initiatives, and present audit work at national conferences.
  • Engage in both outpatient and inpatient settings, providing rotational and development opportunities within the fully‑integrated hospital service.
  • Contribute to the introduction of innovative treatments for patients with diabetes foot infections, working closely with colleagues across South‑West London.
