Job description
Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Biomedical Scientist with a specialist portfolio or equivalent experience to join us and contribute to our growth at this exciting time. We are part of the BSPS group and have recently implemented new Abbott Alinity analysers and Winpath Enterprise LIMS. Lone working OoH experience, good time management and team working skills are essential. The laboratory is approved as a training site. We also hold full compliance with the Blood Safety & Quality Regulations Act 2005. We encourage and support staff professional development.

Laboratory and equipment

The Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratory is well equipped and benefits from Abbott Alinity Hq/Hs for Haematology, Immucor Neo Iris for Blood Transfusion and ACL TOPS 550 CTS for Coagulation. We run a shift system and participation by the successful candidate is compulsory once deemed competent by the Lead BMS.

Service area

We provide emergency and non-emergency services to the residents of East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, including the major towns of Crawley, Horsham, Reigate and Redhill; a community of over 535,000 people. We provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst Crawley Hospital and Horsham in West Sussex and Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey provide less complex planned services.
