Overview

Salary: £58,417 per annum plus opportunity to earn up to 5% performance-related bonus

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: Hale Village, London N17

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to join us and effectively and professionally deliver Latent Defects Projects, with a focus on cladding and fire safety. You will emphasise technical proficiency, project management and stakeholder collaboration to ensure compliance and quality, and deliver excellent frontline customer service by meeting customers’ needs and achieving team/departmental objectives. Some evening and weekend work will be required to provide regular out of hours updates to residents and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Latent Defects Projects with a focus on cladding and fire safety.
  • Apply technical proficiency, manage projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Provide frontline customer service and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Provide regular updates to residents and stakeholders outside standard hours when required.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams on complex construction or remediation projects.
Requirements
  • Degree or NVQ (or equivalent) in Building Surveying, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Chartered Status with RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional body.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cladding systems, fire safety standards and building regulations for residential accommodation.
  • Experience in conducting structural surveys and overseeing multi-disciplinary teams for complex projects.
  • Advanced project management skills; fire safety-specific certifications and/or a building control qualification are ideal.
