Job description
Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Product Solution Architect to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing data products. This role acts as a strategic bridge between data engineering, analytics, product management, and business stakeholders to define and implement data product solutions that are technically sound and aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate is both technically hands-on and strategically minded, capable of translating complex data requirements into scalable product architectures and enabling the delivery of data products that are robust, reusable, and value-driven.

Responsibilities
  • Design end-to-end architecture for data products, including ingestion, transformation, storage, access, and visualization layers.
  • Define architectural standards, patterns, and principles for data product development.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, modular, reusable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and data strategy.
  • Lead the selection and integration of appropriate technologies and platforms (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, real-time processing, APIs, semantic layers).
  • Collaborate with product managers and data teams to translate business needs into technical data product designs.
  • Architect solutions that support data discoverability, governance, lineage, and self-service consumption.
  • Ensure data products meet performance, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive the adoption of data mesh or data-as-a-product principles, where applicable.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology teams on how to best structure and deliver data capabilities.
  • Partner with data engineers, platform architects, and UX/UI teams to ensure cohesive product delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership in shaping the roadmap and backlog for data product teams.
  • Ensure architectural compliance with data governance policies, standards, and frameworks.
  • Define SLAs, KPIs, and monitoring approaches for data products to ensure reliability and trustworthiness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, solution design, or similar roles.
  • Strong experience with modern data platforms and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Azure/AWS/GCP data services).
  • Deep knowledge of data modeling, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native data architectures.
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable and performant data solutions in complex environments.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams using agile or product-centric delivery models.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align technical decisions with business goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data product thinking or data mesh principles.
  • Background in product architecture or enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Amundsen).
  • Familiarity with DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PCI).
Benefits
  • Hybrid working model
  • Private medical insurance, life insurance and eye care
  • Salary Sacrifice Pension matched up to 8%
  • 25 days holiday per annum + bank holidays
  • EAP
  • Wellbeing and volunteering days
  • Payroll giving
  • Reward and Recognition program
  • Discounted RAC vehicle breakdown
