Job description
SolidWorks CAD Engineer - Retail POS / Creative Build

Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Up to £35,000 benefits

Are you a SolidWorks expert who loves seeing their designs come to life on the production floor and out on site? This is your chance to join a forward-thinking creative manufacturer delivering eye-catching retail display and POS solutions for some of the biggest brands in the UK.

This growing business has invested heavily in its design and production capabilities and is now expanding the technical team. You'll be joining at an exciting time—working from client briefs through to build, installation and final delivery. No two days are the same, and you'll play a key role in shaping how projects are delivered.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Translating creative concepts into detailed SolidWorks drawings for manufacture
  • Producing layouts, calculations and workable technical drawings
  • Updating construction drawings and supporting prototype development
  • Working closely with production teams, artworkers and suppliers
  • Involvement in project coordination, site visits and client discussions
  • Supporting and attending installs — sleeves‑up, hands‑on mindset required

This isn’t a role where you just sit behind a screen. You’ll get to follow your projects right through the production journey and see the finished results in-store.

What we’re looking for:
  • SolidWorks proficiency is essential—please only apply if you can demonstrate this
  • Ideally 2 years’ experience in retail POS, joinery, shopfitting or construction‑led design
  • A portfolio of SolidWorks drawings to show your practical capability
  • Great problem‑solving skills, initiative and a keen eye for detail
  • Someone who enjoys a fast‑paced environment and working as part of a close‑knit team
Desirable skills (not essential):
  • Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
  • SolidWorks Visualizer
  • Sheet metal understanding
What’s in it for you
  • A salary of up to £35,000 based on your technical experience
  • Real career opportunity with a rapidly growing business
  • Company pension on‑site parking
  • A genuinely supportive environment that values ideas and innovation
