A health services organization in Edinburgh is seeking a mid-senior level solicitor for its Central Legal Office. The role involves providing litigation support to NHS health boards in Scotland. Candidates should have some post-qualification experience and be comfortable with various legal procedures. The Central Legal Office (CLO) is part of NHS National Services Scotland and provides legal services to the NHS in Scotland and the wider public sector. This post offers an opportunity to work in the CLO Litigation Department as a solicitor, within a team that delivers a comprehensive litigation service to the NHS in Scotland. The department requires a solicitor to support Scottish Health Boards in clinical negligence litigation, Judicial Review and Petition procedure work, and responses to various Public Inquiries.
You will have an interesting and diverse workload and enjoy all aspects of contentious and non-contentious legal work. You will be a team player and enjoy working in a supportive collegiate environment. The posts are suitable for a qualified solicitor with some post-qualification experience. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Gyle Square, Edinburgh. Currently hybrid working with in-person attendance at Gyle Square expected. Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. It is a condition of employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
