Software Engineer

Salary: Competitive

Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Key Responsibilities

Software Design

• Gather and analyse requirements from internal teams and customers
• Produce clear and concise software specifications
• Contribute to design meetings and technical reviews

Software Development

• Develop and maintain mobile phone applications (iOS & Android)
• Build Windows and web-based applications using modern Microsoft technologies
• Work with SQL Server databases
• Maintain and enhance existing systems, including legacy applications
• Contribute to source control and best‑practice development processes

Software Testing

• Write and execute test specifications
• Participate in office‑based and real‑world field testing
• Support beta testing with internal users and customers
• Maintain high software quality standards

Software Support

• Provide technical support via internal support teams
• Carry out remote diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Assist with software commissioning and deployment
• Help improve support and release processes

Documentation

• Create and maintain user manuals and online help content

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent commercial experience
• Commercial experience developing mobile / phone applications
• Minimum 3 years’ software development experience
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Positive, hands‑on attitude with strong communication skills
