Salary: £38,220 + £5,673 market-enhanced payment - £41,771 + £5,242

About the Team

The Specialist Adolescent Service Hertfordshire (SASH) is a multi-disciplinary youth‑justice‑informed social work service. It includes Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Adolescent Practitioners, alongside specialist roles such as Education, Training & Employment (ETE), CAMHS / resilience workers, victim support, seconded police officers and probation officers. Hertfordshire County Council. The service's focus is on relationship‑based, trauma‑informed practice with young people, working to prevent family breakdown, safeguard vulnerable adolescents, and support desistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of adolescents with complex needs, including those at risk of offending or exploitation.
  • Conduct assessments, develop plans, and deliver interventions in collaboration with multi‑agency partners (e.g., health, education, police).
  • Use evidence‑based, strengths‑based practice to build trust and support lasting change.
  • Attend multi‑agency meetings, panels, reviews, and potentially court where required.
  • Contribute to reflective supervision and continuous service improvement.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with adolescents — ideally in youth justice, offending behaviour, or statutory social care.
  • Strong knowledge of risk, contextual safeguarding, and adolescent development.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies.
