Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a Family Safeguarding Team in Cambridge. This hybrid role requires the candidate to work 2-3 days from the office and involves statutory visits for Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care cases. Ideal candidates will have Social Work England registration and experience in statutory social work with strong communication skills. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Social Worker.
  • Understanding of court processes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete statutory visits for CIN, CP, and CIC cases.
  • Chair CIN and Core Group Meetings.
  • Manage a diverse caseload including complex cases.
  • Prepare Court Reports and risk assessments.
  • Attend court with support from a Senior Practitioner.
  • Participate in the Duty rota.
  • Write conference reports for ICPC and RCPC meetings.
  • Assess and manage risk to safeguard children.

Skills

Experience in Family Safeguarding

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.


Location

Cambridge (Hybrid - 2/3 days in the Wisbech office)


Key Responsibilities


  • Complete statutory visits for CIN (Child in Need), CP (Child Protection), and CIC (Children in Care) cases.

  • Chair CIN and Core Group Meetings.

  • Manage a caseload including CIN, CP, and CIC cases, some of which may involve PLO or S31 Care Proceedings.

  • Prepare and complete Court Reports, risk assessments, and parenting assessments.

  • Attend court with support from a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager.

  • Participate in the Duty rota.

  • Attend ICPC and RCPC meetings and write conference reports.

  • Assess and manage risk effectively to safeguard children and families.


Requirements


  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

  • Experience in Family Safeguarding and statutory social work.

  • Strong knowledge of child protection procedures and court processes.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
