Overview

Yate, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England BS37. Sanctuary Personnel has a new permanent position for an experienced Social Worker within the Exploitation Team to work full time in Yate. Salary is up to £36,922 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • To supervise and/or assist in the management and motivation of a team of staff, providing guidance, advice and feedback to ensure good quality assessment, planning, intervention and reviewing which supports good outcomes for children. This includes detailed knowledge of law and policy relating to vulnerable children.
  • Using specialist knowledge to provide a high level of support and supervision, offering advice and guidance to colleagues to ensure casework decisions align with agreed procedures and professional standards.
  • Take a lead in a specialist area of work or service development.
  • Undertake specialist or complex casework when appropriate. Effectively manage risk where there is risk or actual, significant harm to children to ensure they are kept safe and protected from abuse.
  • Contribute to the development of services, meeting targets and facilitating changes of direction so that work is delivered on schedule.
  • Work in partnership across sectors to deliver services, provide advice and support to internal and external service providers, sharing information and promoting good practice.
  • Ensure cases are managed within safeguarding procedures for vulnerable people and maintain thresholds for intervention and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure records are kept in accordance with professional standards and prepare and present reports on cases and issues.
  • Contribute to budgeting and the allocation of funds. If relevant, contribute to commissioning.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Social Work England registered.
