A local government authority in Coventry seeks a Post ASYE Social Worker to support a dedicated children in care team. The role involves managing complex caseloads and liaising with other professionals to promote the welfare of children and families. Ideal candidates will have experience in areas such as court work and care planning. A passion for supporting vulnerable groups and a relevant social work qualification are essential. This role requires flexibility outside office hours when necessary.
The principles of progression are underpinned by the Professional Capabilities Framework and the Post Qualifying standards for Child and Family Social Workers. These characterise assessment at progression points and support the expectations outlined within job descriptions at each stage. There are a range of ways in which these capabilities and standards can be evidenced for assessment, and include submission of portfolios, presentations and panel interviews.
Post ASYE Social Worker (G6) to Experienced Social Worker (G7)
Experienced Social Workers will be evidencing they are able to take responsibility for more complex work with children and families, doing so with an appropriate degree of personal accountability and autonomy as they progress through their social work journey. The role will start to include supporting team members to advance their expertise and professional competence and confidence of others.
Assessment will be against the criteria below and completion of the Advanced Social Worker Progression Knowledge and Skills application to demonstrate meeting the competencies for progression.

You will join a supportive and dedicated children in care team who work with families from the first court hearing and progress their journey all the way through to child's final care plan and beyond, working with children from birth to aged 12 years.
Experience of court work, reunification, care planning, children in need and adoption is desirable.
