  • Recent experience within a statutory children's social work setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with families, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory requirements.
  • Develop and implement Child in Need plans in partnership with families and agencies.
  • Provide Early Help support through effective multi-agency collaboration.
  • Complete Section 7 reports for private family court proceedings.
  • Undertake Section 47 child protection enquiries and prepare families for Initial Child Protection Conferences.
  • Initiate Initial Care Proceedings where necessary to safeguard children.

Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment and Support Team in Blackpool. This ongoing role offers flexibility with full-time or part-time hours and a competitive hourly rate of £39.00. You will play a key role in assessing need, supporting families, and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people within the community.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory requirements

Develop and implement Child in Need plans in partnership with families and agencies

Provide Early Help support through effective multi-agency collaboration

Work in partnership with Housing services to assess and support homeless young people

Build positive, trusting relationships with children and families using the Blackpool Families Rock approach

Apply a strengths-based approach when working with families to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes

Maintain clear, objective, and timely case records in line with local authority requirements

Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

Registration with Social Work England

Recent experience within a statutory children’s social work setting

Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills

Ability to work effectively with families, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
