We're thrilled to announce two fantastic opportunities for Social Workers to join our Learning Disability Partnership South Team. Find out more details below!

Main duties of the job

The Cambridgeshire Learning Disability Partnership (LDP) brings together specialist health and social care services for people with an learning disability. We have two exciting Social Worker vacancies in our South Cambs Team, based at Sunley House, Papworth Everard. The successful candidates will contribute to this unique model of practice as part of an integrated team alongside health and social care practitioners such as Adult Support Coordinators, Social Workers, Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrist, Speech and Language Therapists and Art/ Music Therapists.

The LDP currently works to a hybrid model in line with service needs. Following an induction period, Social Workers will work from the office up to three days each week. This provides a quiet space and time for reflection while balancing collaborative working across the multi‑disciplinary team and peer support. It also increases autonomy and has a positive impact on wellbeing and work‑life balance.

Cambridgeshire County Council adopts a collaborative approach to social work and social care to become more proactive, preventative, and personalised. Staff work with individuals, carers, and families considering holistic, creative solutions to enable individuals to meet their aspirations through care and support planning.

Job responsibilities

You will undertake Social Care and Mental Capacity Act assessments, complete safeguarding enquiries as well as care and support planning, to achieve better outcomes for the adults we support. You'll need to be inquisitive and provide evidence‑based, proportionate recording with a keen focus on strength‑based practice. Working with adults in need of care and support services and their informal carers, it will be crucial to work in partnership to establish needs and ensure they are met.

Inquisitive and creative practice is embraced to allow for personalised solutions, considering wider community resources and organisations. This is not just about delivering care; it's about providing service users with choice and control of their lives and empowering independence.

About you

We are looking for people who can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, have the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, and are committed to making a positive difference for the people we support. The successful candidates will have excellent organisational skills and be willing to use their initiative to work in innovative ways.

You must:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
  • Be able to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
