As part of the management team, you will lead and manage an adult social care team. You will play a crucial role in developing the principles of our practice framework, ensuring teams are working closely with people to understand what truly matters to them. Your role focuses on supporting and protecting adults at risk of abuse or neglect, aligning with the Care Act 2014. As a key player, you will ensure objectives are met, oversee performance management, and guide our practice to deliver high-quality adult social care and support.

What you will do:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the team to ensure timely and legally compliant responses to requests.
  • Involve the individuals we support in decision-making processes, adopting a personal approach and embedding co-production.
  • Offer expert advice and guidance to teams, colleagues, and partners regarding legal literacy and best practice.
  • Support Practitioners in developing and reviewing support and safeguarding plans, covering Section 42 enquiries and self-neglect cases.
  • Chair and oversee professional meetings when required, including those focused on Section 42 Enquiries under the Care Act 2014.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Service and a range of stakeholders to develop policies and procedures related to safeguarding practice.
  • Promote asset/strength-based assessments that support independence and control over well-being.
  • Participate in various legal proceedings including reporting, risk management, and court evidence provision when necessary.
  • Deputise for the Head of Service and Service Manager as required, providing cover and support for colleagues.

Requirements of the Team Leader:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Recent experience in managerial roles such as Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager.
  • Significant frontline experience in Adults Services working as a Manager or Team Leader.
