What you will do:

  • Conduct thorough, high-quality assessments and analyses to provide sound advice and recommendations to the family court under Public Law, such as care and supervision proceedings under the Children Act 1989.
  • Represent the interests of children in court proceedings, ensuring their voices are clearly heard and comprehended.
  • Serve as a Children’s Guardian in Public Law cases, offering independent, evidence-based recommendations centred on what is most beneficial for the child.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, local authorities, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Write concise, clear, and analytical court reports that present evidence-based recommendations.
  • Deliver oral evidence in court and attend hearings, whether remotely or in person, as required.
  • Efficiently and autonomously manage a complex caseload while meeting both Cafcass and court deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, guidance, policies, and procedures.
  • Safeguard children by identifying risks and working with agencies to mitigate these.
