Assistant Team Manager in Mental Health Team in Solihull UK earning £35.44 per hour on an hourly rate. We are offering an ongoing contract for a full-time 37-hour work week. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of professionals and bring your experience in mental health management to Solihull.

Working as a locum offers you the chance to enjoy flexible working hours, diverse work environments, and the opportunity to expand your professional network. Specifically for this role, you will be part of a supportive team that includes one Team Manager, three Assistant Team Managers, and an AHMP lead. In addition, you will be supported by eleven social workers, five social care facilitators, a quality performance lady, and a minute taker. You will play an essential role in supervising five or six staff members and cover duty when our two permanent Assistant Team Managers are unavailable.

What you will do
  • Conduct visits and engage with individuals, requiring a valid driver’s license and travel capability.
  • Manage and lead a team by supervising five or six professionals, ensuring quality performance and staff development.
  • Oversee and understand key processes including 117 and funding operations, collaborating effectively with health colleagues.
  • Work with a comprehensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act to shape strategies and decisions.
  • Provide coverage for duty responsibilities in the absence of permanent Assistant Team Managers, ensuring team continuity and service delivery.
Requirements of the Assistant Team Manager
  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in social work.
  • Have current registration with Social Work England.
  • Display recent managerial experience, such as working as a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager.
  • Demonstrate significant frontline experience in Adults/Children’s Services.
