Job Title: Social Work Advanced Practitioner - Safe and Supported Team

Location: North Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England

Salary: £35.20 per hour

Type: Full-Time, Ongoing

What you will do
  • Act as a seasoned and adept practitioner, providing specialist social work interventions to safeguard children and promote their well-being in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Support the Team Manager in delivering excellence in practice standards, while providing mentoring, coaching, and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to reduce risk, promote stability, and ensure children remain safe and supported within their families and communities.
  • Manage a reduced but complex caseload, including high-risk child protection, children in need, and court proceedings.
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement outcome-focused care plans, and lead on specialist areas such as domestic abuse and contextual safeguarding.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Provide reflective supervision, coaching, and mentoring to Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers.
  • Support the Team Manager in ensuring consistent practice standards and quality assurance.
  • Build strong relationships with partner agencies and represent the team in multi-agency meetings.
  • Contribute to service development through audits, service reviews, and workforce development initiatives.
