The Opportunity

Join a £600 million civil infrastructure project that is committed to delivering not only world‑class engineering but also meaningful social impact. As Social Value Manager, you will lead initiatives that embed social value into every stage of the project, ensuring compliance with client objectives and government frameworks. Your duties and responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the project's social value strategy in line with client objectives and government frameworks.
  • Monitor and report on social value metrics, including local employment, skills development, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to embed social value requirements into supply chain contracts.
  • Engage with local stakeholders, charities, and educational institutions to create meaningful partnerships.
  • Prepare social value performance reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Social Value Act requirements and client KPIs.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and sustainability initiatives across the project.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Social Value, Sustainability, Community Development, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years' experience in social value delivery within large‑scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Social Value Act, government frameworks, and client reporting requirements.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • It is great if you also have the following:
  • Experience in nuclear or high‑hazard environments.
  • Familiarity with social value measurement tools (e.g., TOMs Framework).
  • Membership of IEMA or similar professional body.
Setting for the role

The role will mainly be office based with trips to site if required. A safety induction will be provided.
