A public health organization in Greater London is seeking a Social Media & Digital Communications Officer to enhance their digital presence. This role involves creating engaging content, managing social media channels, and analyzing performance metrics. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in social media, digital analytics, and graphic design, along with excellent writing skills. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, andambitious individual to join the HFEA as a Social Media & Digital CommunicationsOfficer.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individualwho is passionate about building and improving all aspects of the HFEAs digitalcommunications.
This is a fixed term contract, initially for 9-months with the possibility of a 3-month extension. Subject to the return of the permanent post-holder.
Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 10th February. The start date will be Wednesday 1st April 2026.
You will take the lead in developing engaging content forthe digital channels, including the website and social media channels,monitoring their success by producing regular analytics, and finding new waysto engage and grow our audiences.
You will be taking ownership of the day to day running ofour social media channels and work closely with teams across the organisation tomaintain our website.
Reporting to the Web Manager/Developer, this role is a key partin the seven-strong communications team, helping to ensure that everyone in theUK who steps into a fertility clinic receives high quality care and knows whereto access clear and impartial information.
We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role, the right to work in the UK will need to be confirmed prior to interview.

The HFEA isthe UK's independent regulator overseeing safe and appropriate practice infertility treatment and embryo research. We license and monitor clinicscarrying out IVF, donor insemination, and human embryo research.
This post isoffered as either office based (in which case you will need to attend theoffice at least one day per week)or home based (in which case office attendance will be specified byyour line manager based on business need). Working as part of the communications team, the Social Media and Digital Communications Officer is responsible for working with the Communications team to maintain and improve the HFEAs digital and social media channels.
This role leads the development of engaging content for the organisations digital channels, including the website and existing social media channels. The postholder is also expected to produce regular analytics to monitor success, make recommendations for improvements and update senior leaders and colleagues on the performance of the HFEAs digital channels.
Key responsibilities
Create channel-specific content for the HFEAs social media channels Facebook, X Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn targeting our key stakeholders including patients, donors, donor-conceived people and fertility professionals
Implement the organisations digital communications strategy maintain and develop our social media strategy and social media use policy, making evidence-based recommendations
Producing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for publishing content and producing analytics
Research and engage with fertility influencers and organisations to help reach different patient groups with our content
Respond sensitively and accurately to patients and stakeholders contacting us via DM
Create rich media assets for the HFEAs digital channels, including infographics, videos, and liaise with spokespeople and stakeholders to be featured
Monitor analytics relating to the HFEAs digital channels website, clinic portal and social media channels
Produce analytics relating to the HFEAs digital channels including:
Work closely with the Head of Comms to produce reports showing how the HFEAs Digital Comms activity support the Comms strategy
Keep up with and assess trends across social media channels to ensure the HFEA is meeting the changing needs and preferences of our audiences.
Act as the digital content lead on specific projects ensuring content is tailored to relevant audiences
Contributing to wider communications projects
Deputise for the Web Manager Developer as necessary to create new webpages and update existing web content
