Kisharon Langdon UK has an exciting opportunity for a Social Work Assistant /Administrator to join their growing team in Colindale, London.

The Role

Working as part of a team, you will be one of the first points of contact between the public and the service, gathering information, identifying needs and completing assessments, and sign posting people to other services. You will work alongside qualified practitioners on a variety of tasks, whilst managing your own case load, assessing people’s needs and carrying out regular reviews under the relevant legislation.

The Social Care Practioner role will have a financial element that involves costing care packages for the social work team as well as chasing historically low care packages from the local authority. The successful candidate will have a competency with mathematics and the ability to develop knowledge around collating costed care and support plans.

One of the key purposes of this role is to ensure and maintain the high-quality service provision that the organisation offers. This role will support the facilitation of transition pathways for new admissions to the service, plus contribute and participate in meeting the needs of existing people in service.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work jointly with the team and using one’s own experience and initiative on applications to Kisharon Langdon for services and support,
  • To work in accordance with the Kisharon Langdon assessment processes,
  • To work collaboratively with the team in delivering Kisharon Langdon’s aim to provide personalised services for members,
  • To collect, accurately record, manage information systems, critically analyse all relevant information and take appropriate actions to fulfil statutory responsibilities to promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of the Kisharon Langdon members,
  • To complete Care Act 2014 compliant assessments and reviews,
  • Work with individuals in accordance with Care Act 2014, statutory guidance and other appropriate legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 & the Human Rights Act 1998,
  • To build partnership networks with other organisations such as the Local Authority,
  • To raise awareness of our organisation and develop valuable links for the team and service.
About You

The successful candite will be an organised and open minded individual with a flexible and adaptable attitude and will also;

  • Educated to GSCE or equivalent in English Language to grade C or above. Ideally, they would also have (or be working towards) a Social Care Qualification at NVQ Level 2 or above,
  • Excellent intern personal skills and possess a strong ability to communicate verbally in a competent and sensitive manner while also maintaining strict confidentiality,
  • Applicants must have relevant experience in a social care setting, as well as previous experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism,
  • Have a confident understanding of the Care Act 2014, Adult Safeguarding and other relevant legislation,
  • You should be able to demonstrate experience or knowledge of undertaking assessments and devising care plans.
