Overview

JOB TITLE: Social Care Legal Executive REF: E Cheshire 5276863 Pay rate: £24.14 per hour PAYE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 3 months Working Arrangement: Assume office based as no hybrid working provided. In order to apply for this role you will be a qualified Legal Executive with previous experience working in legal Social Care.

Role

On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Social Care Legal Executive to provide legal and procedural advice and services in the most effective and efficient way to meet the requirements of the Council as a whole and specific Services and Departments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice, draft proceedings, contracts, and agreements to support sound policies and decisions.
  • Negotiate, conduct litigation, and represent the Council in courts, tribunals, appeals, and inquiries.
  • Contribute to project teams to achieve Council objectives and deliver legal support.
  • Research and anticipate legal developments to help services adopt best practices.
  • Advise on reports, decision papers, and committees to ensure effective and lawful decision-making.
  • Supervise colleagues to ensure efficient delivery of legal services.
Qualifications
  • Admitted Solicitor entitled to a current practising certificate (or the qualification of Barrister or Legal Executive), or an appropriate level of technical expertise and experience within the relevant field equivalent to the aforementioned formal qualifications
  • Knowledge of at least one other Adult Social Care, including Court of Protection, Mental Capacity law, Care Act, social care debt and mental health law, Children’s Social Care, including public & private law support and adoption
  • Education, including SEND case and school admission appeals
