Job description

We’re delighted to be recruiting our client in a well-equipped and forward-thinking practice in Oxfordshire for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a vet with a minimum of 12 months’ experience who is comfortable with routine soft tissue surgeries and medical work-ups. If you're looking to take the next step in your career and develop your skills in orthopaedics or laparoscopic procedures, this is the perfect learning environment for you.

The practice is led by an experienced partner who regularly performs advanced laparoscopic and orthopaedic surgeries. So you’ll have the opportunity to learn from them and work alongside a supportive clinical team of vets, nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Client Care Assistants, all dedicated to delivering exceptional care. The practice offers outstanding facilities, including three consult rooms, two theatres, a large double prep area, a dedicated isolation ward, and separate cat and dog wards and waiting areas, digital x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, an in-house lab, and all the tools you need for both routine and more advanced procedures. The practice itself is bright, spacious, air-conditioned, and includes a garden and staff parking.

Flexibility is key and they’re happy to discuss full or part-time working arrangements that suit your lifestyle. A full-time week typically includes four days with 1 in 3 Saturdays, and there’s no out-of-hours commitment as this is fully supported by a large local hospital. You’ll also benefit from access to multiple certificate holders and extensive diagnostic equipment in neighboring practices.

As a Vet at this practice, you’ll play a key role in ensuring patient care is consistently delivered to the highest standard, while upholding clinical excellence and building trusting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

They offer a wide range of benefits to support your career and wellbeing, including private medical insurance and a health cash plan from day one, life assurance of three times your salary, and access to 24-hour counselling services. You’ll enjoy five weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising to six weeks with length of service, and an additional paid 'Day for You'.

They also actively support your professional development with £1,500 CPD allowance plus three days paid CPD leave, funded certificate opportunities, internal CPD, and paid membership fees (VDS, RCVS and BVA). Additional benefits include a sabbatical scheme, interest-free season ticket loan, Cycle to Work scheme, staff discounts, and full support for Certificates of Sponsorship for Tier 2 (General) Visa applicants and those relocating.

Salary up to £65k.
