Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in similar maintenance roles.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience prioritising workloads effectively.
  • Proficient in using electronic scheduling systems.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Possession of a valid UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance duties.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Provide accurate updates on job progress.
  • Collect and dispose of rubbish and debris.
  • Transport materials between work areas.
  • Assist operatives with lifting and other tasks.
  • Occasionally transport larger materials.

Job description

We are looking for a Skilled Worker to join our team based in Ely. As a Skilled Worker you will be responsible for providing an effective maintenance and repairs service that meets contract and customer expectations. Daily duties will include carrying out mould treatments and assisting other operatives with works that require a second person. The role of Skilled Worker will include:

  • Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties to help the Operatives on site
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress of jobs
  • Collection of rubbish and debris from work areas and dispose in the skip
  • Ferrying of materials to and from the work area
  • Assisting the operatives with works occasionally and any lifting etc
  • Collection and transportation of larger materials on occasions

We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent unlawful working. A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application, which we will pay for. Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity.

Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Demonstrable experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
  • Good communication skills
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

Salary

£25,410 per annum (rising to £26,747 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
