A global workforce solutions firm is recruiting for a Skilled Inspector for the Civil Aerospace business in Bristol. This role involves using various inspection techniques to identify non-conformance on aerospace turbine components. Candidates must have a time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering and strong H&S awareness, with a minimum of 2 years of inspection experience. The position offers initial 12-month contracts on a rotating shift pattern and requires a proactive approach to quality standards.

On behalf of Rolls‑Royce, AMS are recruiting for a number of Skilled Inspectors available on initial 12‑month contracts for their Civil Aerospace business in Bristol. Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoons and nights).
In this role, you will be using various inspection techniques to find any non‑conformance on aerospace turbine components, especially the Nozzle guide vanes.
This could be intermediate inspection, receipt and dispatch of components or final clear inspection.
As an Inspector, you will work with manufacturing engineers to determine the right course of action to address any non‑conformance, and you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.
Inspection of castings using appropriate plant, equipment and techniques.
Working to inspection procedure card specifications and drawings, confirming with quality acceptance standards.
Completing inspection documentation as necessary including logging and detailing defects on specified blades and NGVs.
Raising scrap, correction or salvage documentation.
Booking work through computer terminal and checking priorities.
Willing to take ownership and drive improvement
A recognised time‑served apprenticeship / modern apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, along with either NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is essential.
A strong awareness of H&S and inspection visual techniques.
2 or more years experience in the inspection of Turbine blades and NGVs is desirable.

Ability to work unsupervised
