Overview

Site Technician

Location: Ryecroft CE Middle School ST14 5PB & Windsor Park CE Middle School ST14 7JX

Start date: AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Contract: Permanent, Whole Year – 37 hours per week. Reduced hours will be considered

Salary: Grade 3: SCP4 - £25,185 per annum

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person, to support the effective operation of the school. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, the ideal candidate will have experience of working in a maintenance environment, a good standard of practical knowledge and working knowledge of health and safety codes of practice/legislation.

Responsibilities
  • You will play a key role in maintaining our sites and ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for our school communities.
  • You will be hard working, enthusiastic and flexible with high standards and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • The successful candidate will be a team worker with the ability to work independently as directed by the Site Supervisor or other senior staff and act on your own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise.
  • You will thrive on keeping busy, providing effective caretaking and housekeeping support to the schools to include site maintenance, site security and the general appearance of the buildings and grounds.
  • You will possess the necessary skills to carry out non-specialist building maintenance work e.g. plumbing, carpentry, decorating etc., where such work is agreed as being within the reasonable capacity of normal handyperson/DIY Skills.
  • You will have an excellent working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation along with practical experience of ensuring compliance.
  • A clean driving licence is advantageous as there will be travel between our sites

  • Willingness to perform site maintenance, security and general housekeeping tasks across school buildings and grounds.
  • Competence in non-specialist building maintenance tasks (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, decorating) within the scope of normal handyperson/DIY skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Clean driving licence is advantageous due to travel between sites.
