Qualifications

  • Experience in installing and maintaining machinery, mechanical fitting, or similar.
  • Knowledge of water industry equipment is a big plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

VACANCY: Site Technician
LOCATION: HMNB Portsmouth
ABOUT US:

Glenfield Invicta provide end-to-end project solutions, from initial survey and design to commissioning and long-term asset management. They are part of the AVK Group, a global leader in high-quality valves and hydrants for water, wastewater, gas, and fire protection throughout the world.

We're looking for a Site Technician who enjoys practical, outdoor work and isn't afraid to get stuck in. You'll be part of a small team upgrading critical infrastructure, to modernise Portsmouth Naval Base, ensuring fit for purpose and reliable equipment for the Royal Navy.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
  • Ensure works are delivered safely
  • Install, service, repair, and commission equipment as required and as specified in the accepted Method Statement
  • Supply details, measurements, and full descriptions of any components that require replacement
  • Report any hazards or issues promptly
  • There may be a requirement to travel to other sites in the south of England depending on workload and customer needs
  • Manage and maintain the highest possible standards of Health and Safety, in line with legislation and company policies
  • Contribute to RAMS and other H&S documentation, working with engineering and H&S colleagues
ABOUT YOU:
  • Experience in the marine industry, installing and maintaining machinery, mechanical fitting, or similar
  • Knowledge of water industry equipment (penstocks, valves, etc.) is a big plus
  • Confident with working at height and in confined spaces, you'll also be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong teamwork skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred but not essential
  • Please note as this is a military site, you will be required to undergo security checks before you start the position.
