A logistics and equipment company in Wigan is looking for someone to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations. This role involves delivering optimal logistics operations, creating production plans, and leading a team in inventory management. Candidates should have a strong focus on safety, effective stock control, and timely product delivery. This position offers a unique opportunity to improve processes and contribute to overall site productivity.
To ensure the safety and welfare of the employees, plant & equipment and Yard area, drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, process & productivity and mitigate risks to executing plan.
To deliver an efficient Logistics operation for the site including the timely movement of Units to the correct location, Materials to the correct location in the optimum quantities and 360 products to the correct location in the optimum quantities.
To review the National production requirement, assess in line with unit availability, delivery location and available resources and create local site planned activity on a monthly and weekly basis to ensure utilisation, availability by type and prepare supporting documentation.
To create a daily production plan that outlines the order in which units will be worked upon, and the associated hours required by type of labour (electrical, plumbing, cleaning, general etc.), and duration of tasks.
To provide strong leadership and develop the logistics/ inventory/materials team/stock handling/value added processes to achieve both effective and efficient stock control management and on time supply to internal production facility.
