Site Manager - Facilities Management / Soft Services

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: 40 per week, 5 out of 7 days (including weekends/evenings)
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Site Manager to oversee soft services facilities management at a busy distribution centre in Wakefield. This is a hands‑on leadership role, responsible for delivering high standards of cleanliness, safety and customer service while managing a large operational team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a large janitorial / cleaning team ensuring high performance, training and development.
  • Deliver FM services in line with SLAs, KPIs and budget expectations.
  • Build strong working relationships with the onsite customer and service partners.
  • Monitor compliance, audits, Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and performance.
  • Recruit, coach and manage team members, including performance and conduct matters.
  • Respond to operational issues and emergencies promptly and professionally.
About You
  • Experience managing large teams within soft services/FM/cleaning operations (distribution centre experience advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of operational cleaning standards, compliance and safety procedures.
  • Confident communicator able to build effective customer relationships.
  • Data‑driven approach to KPIs and service delivery.
  • Resilient, proactive and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
