Job description

We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our Infrastructure team on the Lower Thames Crossing Project in Thurrock. You will be responsible for the on site engineering of the works. This will initially include GI, Utilities, Ecology and Archaeology prior to the main construction works.

What you'll do:

  • Initially working with Section teams planning and producing sketches and methodologies for relevant plans and procedures for mobilising.
  • Setting up work sites with General Foreman/ Works Manager
  • Working with the subcontractor to ensure the timely preparation Risk Assessment Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, Permits, Consents etc for the works and that these are implemented.
  • Day to day work site coordination and planning to ensure the works are carried out safely and efficiently
  • Ensure that the Health Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce and implemented
  • Ensuring all Permits (Dig, Hot Works etc) and other safey systems are implemented
  • Liaison with the Section Foreman to ensure the adherence to safe methods of work

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering.
  • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD).
  • Capable of working independently and proactively to progress works but also skilled at working collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders for the overall benefit of the project.
