Job summary

A day in the life of a Murphy Site Engineer
  • Checking Inspection Test Plans
  • Checking setting out protocols of sub-contracted site engineers, review and agree a method to carry out consistently.
  • Checking Installation on site is correct according to specifications.
  • Assisting the Design Team with identifying setting out requirements on projects.
  • Review the Design Information prior to works commencing.
  • Checking that correct Quality Control is adhered to.
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels.
  • Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements.
  • Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures.
  • Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
  • Minimise environmental disturbance during construction works.
  • Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
  • Close liaison with the Project Team.
  • Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used.
  • Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation and progress reports.
Engineering Duties

  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Qualifications
  • Engineering qualification from a reputable firm.
  • IT Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel and Word proficiency.
  • Ability to articulate engineering concepts verbally to stakeholders and in written communication.
  • Previous experience as an engineer on a civil engineering project.
  • Driver's license.
  • Safety training IOSSH and/or SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • Actively promote and embed EDI in all work and support organisational initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with the Murphy values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect.
  • Relevant tickets for site-based work.
