Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency is seeking a Site Engineer for a major infrastructure project in Fort William, starting in March. This long-term contract offers a unique opportunity to work on creating new slipways, overnight berthing piers, and other essential infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have experience in civil engineering projects and strong skills in setting out and supervising subcontractors. This role ensures collaboration with senior engineers to deliver high-quality works on time.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civils projects.
  • Strong setting‑out skills.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors.
  • Good understanding of QA processes and site documentation.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative site team.

  • Setting out for a wide range of marine and land‑based civil engineering works.
  • Supervision of subcontractors to ensure safe, high‑quality delivery.
  • Supporting QA, record‑keeping and site documentation.
  • Working closely with the Senior Engineer and Site Management team.
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and design specifications.

Site Engineer – Major Infrastructure Project (64‑Week Programme)

Fort William Area | Start March | Long‑Term Contract

We’ve been awarded a major infrastructure project in the Fort William area and are now looking to add Site Engineers to the delivery team as works get underway.

A flagship Highland Council project designed to modernise Narrows for Ferry Service. The scheme includes new slipways on both shores, a new overnight berthing pier, breakwater construction, marshalling areas, parking, public facilities, and infrastructure to support a future electric ferry. Works also involve dredging, land reclamation and demolition of the existing pier.

The programme runs for 64 weeks, offering long‑term continuity on a high‑profile civil engineering project.

The Role
  • Setting out for a wide range of marine and land‑based civil engineering works
  • Supervision of subcontractors to ensure safe, high‑quality delivery
  • Supporting QA, record‑keeping and site documentation
  • Working closely with the Senior Engineer and Site Management team
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and design specifications
