Job summary

A construction and engineering firm in Walsall is seeking a Site Agent / Civils Site Manager. This role involves planning and executing a minor road project, ensuring compliance with quality standards and health & safety. Candidates should have a background in civil engineering and relevant certifications, including CSCS and SMSTS. The position is temporary for 4 weeks, potentially extending due to further works.

Qualifications

• Preferred engineering background HNC / HND Civil Engineering.
• CSCS - Black card (NVQ level 6) or equivalent.
• SMSTS: 5 days (Must).

Site Agent / Civils Site Manager -

It is a minor road job installing a new footway, nothing major which is why it’s only 4 weeks work currently. That may extend due to a water main installation

Road / Highways experience - S278

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Planning, programming and resourcing.
• Contract Budget and target programme - preparation and monitoring.
• Site Cost Control.
• Construction of the works to specified quality standards.
• Health & Safety and Environmental compliance and best practice.
• Compliance with contract particulars.
• Management of site staff, sub-contractors and operatives.
• Liaison with the Engineer’s Representative, Project Manager or Supervisor.
• Efficient utilisation and use of resources in carrying out your duties.
• Maintain comprehensive records and ensure all records are archived.
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
• Inspection, testing, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications :

Preferred engineering background HNC / HND Civil Engineering.

• CSCS -Black card (NVQ level 6) (or equivalent)
• SMSTS : 5 days (Must)
• First Aid : Full 3 Day Course (Advantage)
• Temporary Works Co-ordinator (Advantage)
