An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced & motivated nurse with exceptional skills & knowledge to join our Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) at Kendray Hospital
The NRU is a 12 bedded local specialist rehabilitation unit that provides a neurological rehabilitation service which enables patients with long term neurological conditions including patients with an acute injury or episode, to access rehabilitation that is coordinated, timely & responsive to patient needs
The Sister/Charge Nurse will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team assisting in leading the way in the provision of outstanding patient care and innovative nursing practice
We are seeking nurse leaders who can support ward managers to help build a confident, high-quality & caring team who are experts in their field. Youll be responsible for championing rehabilitation nursing & supporting nursing staff, while working alongside other multi-disciplinary colleagues

As Sister/Charge Nurse on our specialist NRU you will
Undertake comprehensive health care needs assessment of patients
Demonstrate experience of leadership, management & multi-disciplinary team working
Have interpersonal skills & demonstrable ability to handle complex communications
Have a key role in training, education & staff development, actively participate in regular supervision/appraisals contributing to clinical leadership facilitating a culture of learning/reflective practice
Have ability to inspire people & able to motivate/support others
Contribute actively to the rehabilitation process working alongside therapy colleagues
Provide high standards of nursing care as defined by the patients care plan, reviewing & updating when care needs change & evidence this
Communicate effectively, with sensitivity & compassion & manage relationships with people
Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks

JOB SUMMARY
To ensure that all patients transferred to the Neurological Unit access a specialist rehabilitation service according to individual need.
To provide and maintain a high quality of individualised patient and carer support by effectively co-ordinating all available resources, identifying shortfalls and contributing in their solution.
To provide support to the Neurological Services Manager in the area of clinical leadership and nursing and care staff.
To assist with improving and maintaining services to people with a Neurological diagnosis by providing advice and information.
To participate in the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of all programmes of care using identified care pathways and in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
