What you'll be doing
  • Operate a high-pressure waste fired boiler and turbo-generator with their ancillary systems from a central control room.
  • Assist with outside plant duties as required.
  • Supervise staff and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operation of all activities on site, under both steady-state and transient conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with the Environmental Permit and other statutory requirements.
  • Manage safe systems of work as a Senior Authorised Person for mechanical and electrical work, through the application of the ERF Safety Rules and corporate procedures.
What we're looking for
  • Proven operational experience within a process industry such as EFW, power generation, petrochemicals, paper or similar industry.
  • ONC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • An understanding of relevant environmental and health and safety issues.
  • Good analytical and evaluation skills, in identifying and responding to plant abnormalities and contributing to the continual improvement of plant performance.
  • Capable of independent decision making in emergency conditions.
