SHIFT SUPERVISOR - OAKLEAF ⭐

ABOUT OAKLEAF

Oakleaf is one of the UK's largest Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) producers, operating state‑of‑the‑art reprocessing facilities. We manufacture high‑quality main burner SRF, supporting our suppliers and customers in reducing their environmental impact by diverting carbon‑rich waste from landfill and replacing coal with sustainable alternative fuels.

SHIFT SUPERVISOR - ROLE PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations and ensure the safe, efficient running of our production facility. You will supervise shift personnel, maintain production standards, and uphold compliance, safety, and performance expectations across the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead operations during your shift and keep the General and Production Managers informed of any key updates.
• Take full ownership of workforce supervision, output quality, and production targets.
• Maintain high operational standards in line with company procedures, KPIs, and safety systems.
• Coach, mentor, and develop your team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Monitor shift performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ensure effective communication and handovers between shifts.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and within required timeframes.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety‑first culture, addressing risks proactively.
• Lead problem‑solving activities and root‑cause analysis to resolve issues promptly.
• Work collaboratively with other Shift Supervisors to ensure consistent operations across all shifts.
• Support employee training and development to meet current and future operational demands.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to support the company's growth.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Use company resources responsibly to support cost‑effective operations.
• Act as a role model for Oakleaf's values, policies, and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Previous supervisory experience in a high‑volume processing or manufacturing environment (minimum requirement).
• Engineering, maintenance, or electrical experience advantageous.
• Strong people management abilities.
• Experience within the waste, recycling, or similar industrial sector preferred.
• Familiarity with operating plant equipment and large‑scale processing machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

• Good written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices and culture.

Your leadership will help embed a strong safety‑first culture, maintain operational excellence, and drive consistent performance across the site. You will lead by example, promote best practice, and challenge unsafe behaviours or inefficient processes as needed.
