In the UK, Guardian Glass is continually looking for talented individuals to help us continue our growth and presence in the regional and global markets. AllUKmanufacturing is based at our plant in Goole,East Yorkshire which has recently made a significant investment in a new furnace usingthe latest technology and secures glass manufacture at the site for the next 20 years. The plant, which operates 24 / 7, can produce some of the most advanced and innovative energy-saving architectural glass on the market today.

We are looking for anexperiencedshift electrical engineerwho will be responsible forproviding a comprehensive maintenance / electrical breakdown service and support to the relevant department functions.

Our Team

Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Manager you will ensureprocesses and technologies are working at optimal performance to meet key production and business objectives.

What You Will Do in Your Role
  • You will respond to production risks and OEE impact events to provide Stable Operations.
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained, and safe working procedures are adhered to.
  • Work under the rules of the Electrical and Mechanical safety systems and understand risk reduction and control using process safety fundamentals.
  • Identifying failure modes of electrical equipment and making recommendations to prevent further failures.
  • Diagnosing and repairing equipment issues and returning the equipment to operations safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining / fault finding on PLC / PC-controlled automated systems.
What will you provide?
  • Candidates should possess a formal technical qualification (minimum level 3) in Electrical Engineeringand be familiar with the 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
  • The job holder will have a sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
  • General knowledge of working with Safety and control circuits, motor control, instrumentation, PLCs, and modern drive systems in a continuous process industry.
  • Possess a willingness to contribute, identifying opportunities to continually improve and help Maintain and improve equipment availability.
  • The ability to fault find ina PLC / PC-controlled automated system is an advantage.
  • A willingness to learn and share within knowledge networks.
