Job description

Equans is looking for a Shift Electrical Engineer to join our team in Sutton, Greater London. This is a permanent full‑time role, working 42 hours per week, based on a 4‑day rotating shift pattern between 07:00 – 19:00. There is also an on‑call rota. On offer is a salary banding of £44,000 – £45,794.65 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience, and a benefits package.

What will you deliver?
  • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out on all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists. This position will also include the EICR testing for the site.
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.

Who are we looking for?
  • City and Guilds 236 A & B (2360 parts 1 and 2) or equivalent.
  • IET 18th edition.
  • City & Guilds 2394 / 2395 or 2391 / 2392 Electrical Testing & Inspection with experience of NICEIC documentation.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • PAT City & Guilds advantageous.
  • Previous Hospital / Life Science experience would be advantageous.
