Working hours: Day shifts with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends when required
Responsibilities
Your duties as the Sheet Metal Worker / CNC Press Brake Operator & Fabricator include:
- CNC Press Brake Operation: Programming, setting and operating Amada and LVD CNC press brake machinery
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Producing precision aerospace components to AS9001 standards
- Welding and Finishing: Carrying out welding, deburring, polishing and surface finishing tasks
- Technical Interpretation: Reading and working from detailed 2D aerospace drawings
- Tool Use: Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Component Forming: Forming and profiling metal and composite parts to specification
- Drilling and Countersinking: Producing precision holes and fixing points for aerospace assemblies
- Quality Control: Ensuring all parts are manufactured to required standards and tolerances
Qualifications
- Qualified Background: NVQ qualified or time-served in sheet metal or fabrication
- Proven Expertise: Previous experience in CNC press brake programming, setting and operation
- Fabrication Skills: Proven experience of welding and aerospace component fabrication
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Aerospace Standards: Familiar with tight tolerances and quality requirements
- Detail Focus: Excellent attention to detail with a quality-driven mindset
- Team Approach: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Positive Attitude: Can-do approach and willingness to support business needs
