Overview

Service Technician - Electrical & Mechanical

We\'re recruiting for a hands-on Service Technician to join a busy engineering workshop in East Staffordshire. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and testing specialist electrical equipment used in power testing applications across sectors like energy, marine, utilities, and data centres.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical and mechanical inspection of customer equipment
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Using multimeters to measure and record values
  • Completing electronic test documentation and communicating findings
  • Performing wiring repairs, modifications, and mechanical fixes
  • Re-testing and documenting results post-repair
  • Soldering cable and controller assemblies
  • Producing detailed customer reports
  • Supporting on-site repair work during peak periods
  • Assisting with packing and parts preparation in the workshop
What We're Looking For
  • Solid understanding of electrical circuits and wiring standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Comfortable working independently and managing varied tasks
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and professional in approach
Hours

Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00 (40 hours/week)

Overtime available, including weekend mornings

Competitive hourly rate based on experience
