Job Summary

Our client are seeking a highly organized and proactive “hands on” Servicing Manager to oversee their installation and servicing operations. Based at their Tamworth Office, this role involves managing schedules, resources, customer relationships, and internal stock to ensure seamless service delivery. The successful candidate will be hands‑on, you need to be able to understand the technical and mechanical side of the business whilst managing the administrational responsibilities (Must be able to use Outlook, Word & Excel). You will be required to assist with both service and installations when required, and lead by example in delivering exceptional technical and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Servicing Management: Coordinate and oversee all installation projects and servicing activities, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards; personally perform installations and servicing as needed to support the team or meet urgent demands.
  • Diary and Scheduling Control: Maintain and manage the service diary, prioritising tasks, allocating jobs to engineers, and adjusting schedules as needed to accommodate urgent requests or changes.
  • Resource Management: Supervise Installation and service engineers, including training, and performance management, while optimising resource allocation to maximise efficiency.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as a point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, providing updates on service progress, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication.
  • Stock Control: Monitor and manage internal stock levels of parts, tools, and equipment, including ordering supplies, conducting inventory checks, and minimizing waste to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies; prepare reports on service metrics, stock usage, and team performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance service quality, implementing changes where appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the engineering, manufacturing, or service sector, ideally with knowledge of mist extraction or related equipment.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to personally carry out technical installations and servicing tasks in the field.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer and team interactions.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
  • A knowledge of health and safety regulations in the machine tool industry is advantageous.
