Overview

Service Engineer – Permanent – Electrical / Controls / Drives – £40-45k + £6k car allowance + bonus + 25 days holiday

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Service Engineer to join a systems integrator with a base in Cheshire. The successful Service Engineer will be responsible for the servicing of automation and control related systems and site support for PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, robots, networks and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities
  • Reactive site support on customer automation control applications to include PLC, VSDs, robots and SCADA systems
  • 24/7 reactive callout support (rostered cover)
  • Methodical problem-solving approach
  • Workshop testing of engineered automation control systems
  • Investigate and repair components including PLC, VSDs, robots and SCADA systems
  • Read electrical schematic diagrams and PLC software listings
  • Keep accurate and up to date site logs and timesheets
  • Accurate marking-up of project schematics and documentation
  • Electrically biased and qualified
  • Experience of drive control & automation in industries such as metal, printing, automotive or paper manufacturing
  • Good industrial networking experience – Ethernet, Profibus or Modbus
  • Company is accredited to ISO9001:2001 and has a proven track record of successful project delivery

Location & Travel

The company has bases in Cheshire and Shropshire. While not working away, there may be a need to be involved with final stages of testing on the shopfloor and attendance at meetings. Ideal places to live include Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Wigan, St Helens, Warrington, Runcorn, Ellesmere Port, Stockport, Bolton, Heywood, Rochdale, Birkenhead, Widnes, Knutsford, Skelmersdale or Wigan.
