Role: Service Engineer

Location: Thirsk

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on site utilities and services.
  • Perform inspections, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Implement improvements to plant and equipment to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Record all maintenance activities accurately within the maintenance management system.
  • Develop and update planned maintenance schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and inspection requirements.
  • Maintain inspection, servicing, and certification records for site services systems.
  • Manage critical spare parts and coordinate stock levels with engineering stores.
  • Provide mechanical support to wider engineering teams as required.
  • Support new installations, upgrades, and small engineering projects.
Skills and Experience
  • Qualified in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with industrial plant and site services equipment such as boilers, compressors, heating systems, and water treatment.
  • Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge.
  • Able to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain equipment safely.
