A financial services institution in the UK is offering an apprenticeship opportunity in their Service Desk team. The role involves providing excellent customer service and support within their IT environment. Candidates should have a passion for technology and problem-solving combined with a minimum of 3 GCSEs, including Maths and English. We have an apprenticeship opportunity within our Service Desk team to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank. We pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.
As a member of the Service Desk team, you will be in a highly visible and customer facing role engaging with colleagues across the bank at all levels. The team provides a high success rate of first-time fix, so you will need to have an analytical/problem-solving mind. As well as supporting and maintaining the IT service environment (delivered through a multi-cloud infrastructure), you will have plenty of opportunity for delivering service improvements and be an integral part of wider projects. Providing excellent customer service and efficient support is key. This opportunity will provide you with a great introduction into real world IT challenges that a business might face.
Initially this role will be office based 5 days per week, with the opportunity for hybrid working after a period of time.

What is important to us is that you have a passion for all things technology and fixing things when they might go wrong. An understanding of the working of the Windows operating system and Office/O365 will stand you in good stead to exceed in this opportunity. If you have knowledge of how devices are built, configured and managed, this will only benefit you. Any previous experience in desktop support would be advantageous, but not essential.
What is equally important is that you are able to work effectively both on your own and as part of a team, with the ability to work well under pressure. Considering the nature of the role, you will need to be an excellent communicator to effectively communicate and problem-solve with a variety of colleagues and senior stakeholders. You will need to be highly organised and task-driven in order to thrive in this environment.
