The Opportunity

A senior technical leadership role - without the burnout. CRA Consulting is partnering with a large, highly respected national Serious Injury practice to appoint an Associate Team Leader as part of its continued investment in senior technical leadership. This is a credible step-up or lateral move for an experienced Serious Injury solicitor or senior fee earner who enjoys technical excellence, mentoring, and influencing outcomes, but wants to do so in a modern, flexible environment that values expertise. You'll work on complex, high-value RTA Serious Injury claims (£100,000-£1m+), supporting senior colleagues and shaping best practice across the department - all within a genuinely supportive leadership structure. Rather than carrying a heavy personal caseload, you'll focus on technical supervision, strategy, and people development, acting as a trusted sounding board for senior fee earners handling some of the most challenging claims in the business. It's an opportunity to lead through expertise, influence outcomes at scale, and build a long-term leadership career - without sacrificing work-life balance.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing hands-on technical supervision and coaching on complex multi-track RTA claims
  • Supporting senior fee earners on cases valued £100k-£1m+
  • Driving technical quality, consistency, and governance across the team
  • Conducting regular technical 1:1s, file reviews, and structured feedback
  • Supporting case strategy, costs, billing governance, and settlement planning
  • Contributing to QA, risk management, and technical compliance
  • Using MI and performance data to improve outcomes and productivity
  • Mentoring senior colleagues and helping develop future technical leaders
  • Collaborating closely with Team Leaders, Technical Leads, and senior management
  • Playing an active role in embedding best practice and business-wide improvements
What they're looking for
  • Solicitor, FILEX or equivalent professional background
  • 8+ years' PQE
  • Strong track record in high-value, multi-track Serious Injury / RTA litigation
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or coaching senior fee earners
  • Excellent technical knowledge of CPR, costs, funding, and litigation strategy
  • Comfortable working within a performance-led environment
  • Confident using case management systems (Proclaim ideal, not essential)
  • Commercially aware, organised, and emotionally intelligent
Key Technical Strengths
  • Multi-track litigation (including cost budgeting)
  • Liability, quantum, and evidential strategy
  • High-value special damages claims
  • Billing oversight, MI interpretation, and performance analysis
  • Training, competency assessment, and technical development
  • Risk management on £100k+ Serious Injury cases
Salary & Benefits - Why this role stands out
  • £57,600 - £72,000 basic salary
  • Fully remote working (with occasional, agreed office attendance)
  • 35-hour working week
  • Agile, adult working culture with real flexibility
  • Clear leadership structure, objectives, and support
  • Genuine long-term progression into senior technical or operational leadership
  • Exposure to some of the highest-value Serious Injury work in the UK market
