Job summary

A leading support service provider in the UK is seeking a committed Senior Youth Independence Mentor to join their Supported Accommodation team. In this role, you will support young people aged 16-18 in developing essential independence skills and taking on leadership responsibilities by mentoring colleagues. The ideal candidate has experience in social care, a strong understanding of safeguarding, and possesses excellent communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in various settings.
• Understanding of safeguarding issues and challenges faced by vulnerable youth.
• Ability to role-model and teach essential skills for independence.

Responsibilities

• Support young people aged 16-18 in gaining independence skills.
• Mentor colleagues and lead shifts.
• Ensure compliance with care standards.

Skills
